Contribute and help fill medical needs in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Jim Camp spent his life ministering to the needs of others through his medical service. Now, his family and friends have started a CAMPaign (Congolese Advocate’s Medical Project) fundraiser to help carry on his work. We wish to honor his memory and his promises, and to enable Congolese to address their medical needs.
Jim worked as an anesthetist and hospital administrator for a rural DRC medical facility from 1982 until 1990, when he moved his family to the USA. He never forgot the medical needs of the Congolese, and throughout his work in the US, he sent equipment to hospitals and supported several medical students’ schooling.

In January, 2009 Jim traveled to the DRC, reconnected with old colleagues, and assessed some current medical needs. He is pictured above standing outside of HEAL Africa, a medical NGO run by close family friends, where he often donated time and resources because of how thoroughly he believed in their integrity, positive impact on the community, and quality of medical care.
Jim was working on new projects and providing support to many medical personnel in DRC when he passed suddenly from heart failure in March 2009. Please help us continue his work.
If you can chip in even a little, please do! The contribitions will go directly to the CAMPaign set up by Jim Camp's employer of nineteen years, Fulton County Medical Center, and the funds will be funneled into three projects:
- a scholarship for nursing school students
- a project to help financially support the head medical technician at HEAL Africa
- a project to purchase and ship equipment to medical facilities in need
